Sponsor Profile

The Carrot Cache is a non-profitcarrot cache organization that strives to promote organic and community food strategies, and to support worker co-ops. The intent is to encourage creative thinking by people with the ability and commitment to follow through on their ideas. Grants in the range of $500 to $10,000 are generally for small, start-up projects anywhere in Canada or for Canadian projects elsewhere in the world.

Funds to support this worthy initiative are contributed as a percent of the profits of the Carrot Common Mall on Danforth, in Toronto, and by the Cooperative Resource Pool of Ontario, and the banking sector.

Beneficiaries have ranged from the Quinte Organic Farmers’ Co-op in Ontario, which received funds to to build infrastructure and develop a business plan, to the Speerville Flour Mill in New Brunswick, which used its grant to support a train-the-trainer program for cooking with whole foods.
