Student Projects
The GCUOF is proving to be an irresistible vehicle for students from many disciplines to apply their academic knowledge. Examples include course projects assigned in such disparate fields as landscape architecture and engineering. A landscape architecture class took on the task of designing site plans for the GCUOF, lending us the benefit of their professional creativity. Teams from an engineering class researched and developed proposals for water catchment and distribution on site. The energetic engagement of students in eating sustainably is nowhere better illustrated than in a painting by student Laura Simon. As part of her mark for an organic class, she submitted a painting inspired by Michael Pollan's Ominvore's Dilemma.

Students employed as Undergraduate Research Assistants have created everything from a manual on water conservation for Guelph gardeners to a survey of on-campus buyers for GCUOF produce.
Whether as class or individual projects, the projects made available here reflect both personal growth and a contribution to wider community understanding of key issues.
